Everything about survey titles, tones, bias and the generator.

What is a survey title generator?

A survey title generator creates headlines for your surveys — the title respondents see in the email invite, link preview or survey header. SurveySage generates titles across 6 survey types (customer satisfaction, employee engagement, market research, product feedback, event feedback, academic research) and 3 tones (professional, friendly, catchy) from a bank of 108 original lines.

02 // Inquiry

Are the generated titles original?

Yes. All 108 titles were written originally for SurveySage. They are free for personal and commercial use in your own surveys, no attribution required.

03 // Inquiry

How long should a survey title be?

Aim for under 60 characters so the title survives email subject lines and link previews intact. One clear idea per title — if it needs a comma splice to fit, it is two titles.

04 // Inquiry

Which tone should I choose?

Professional for formal, academic or enterprise research. Friendly for customers and communities where warmth helps response. Catchy when you need open rates — betas, events, internal pulse surveys. Mixed when you want a varied shortlist to choose from.

Can a survey title bias my results?

Yes. Leading titles prime leading answers and skew who responds. Keep titles neutral — name the topic, never the expected finding — and run the writing-tips checklist before publishing.

06 // Inquiry

Should I mention the survey length in the title?

Mentioning length is one of the most reliable open-rate levers — but only if the survey truly takes that long. Test completion time on a few people first; a broken time promise destroys trust.

07 // Inquiry

What makes a good employee survey title?

Trust and seriousness. Titles should signal listening ('Your Voice at Work Matters') without trivializing or overpromising. If leadership will share results, say so near the title — it is the strongest participation lever available.

Can I use catchy titles for academic research?

Generally no. Academic and institutional research usually requires formal titles and ethics-board-approved wording. Save the catchy rewrites for recruitment materials, not the instrument itself.

09 // Inquiry

How many titles can I generate?

Up to 20 per click, with unlimited clicks. The bank holds 108 titles, and each generation shuffles the pool for fresh mixes.

10 // Inquiry

Is the generator private?

Yes. SurveySage is plain JavaScript running in your browser using crypto.getRandomValues(). Nothing is sent over the network, no cookies are set, and nothing is stored or tracked.

11 // Inquiry

Can I download the titles?

Yes. After generating, click Download .txt for a plain text file, or Copy all to paste into your notes or survey tool. Everything happens locally in your browser.
